A. Kelworth operates 48’ aluminum flatbed trailers.
Q. How much will it cost to ship my material?
A. Freight charges are based on a number of determining factors, including miles traveled, the amount of material, number of stops and location of delivery. Please click here to request an accurate rate quote.
Q. What is the average transit time?
A. Transit times can vary based on a multitude of different factors, but we usually estimate that a truck can travel approximately 500 miles in a day.
Q. What is the minimum/maximum size load you will carry?
A. Loads should not exceed the footprint of our 48’ x 102’ trailers. Most states also have a maximum height requirement of 13’ 6”. Finally, we can carry loads up to 48,000 pounds.
Q. What is the minimum/maximum distance you will travel?
A. We do not have a minimum distance that we will travel, but many states do have a minimum haul charge. There is also no maximum distance that we will travel, as long as the route stays within the boundaries of the continental United States.
Q. Do you carry less-than-truckload shipments?
A. All of our rates are based on full truckload shipments.
Q. Do you carry multi-stop shipments?
A. We would be happy to carry full truckload shipments that have multiple stops. Please be aware than an additional charge may be assessed for multi-stop loads.
Q. How long has Kelworth Trucking been in business?
A. Kelworth has been a family owned and operated business for over 25 years, and we are still growing every year!
Q. How soon can you pick up my material?
A. We are a nationwide shipper, and we can usually have a truck at your location within a day. However, pick-up times depend on how many available trucks we have in your area.
Q. Do you tarp your cargo?
A. Cargo can be shipped either with or without tarps, depending on the needs of the shipper.
Q. How do you track your trucks?
A. Dispatchers speak with every driver in the fleet at least once every day. In this way, the company is in constant contact with every driver and every load.
Q. When will I be billed?
A. Shippers are billed when the driver turns the paperwork in to our accounting department. In most cases, this is within a week of delivery.
Q. What are your payment terms?
A. Once your company meets our credit requirements, our payment terms are net 30 days from the date of the invoice.
Q. Are your loads insured?
A. Yes, all loads are insured up to $100,000. Loads that need to carry additional coverage can still be hauled, with a one-time insurance rider provided at an additional cost.
Q. Do you offer blind billing?
A. Yes, we will be happy to provide blind billing if it is required.
Q. Can I ship COD?
A. Yes, you may. Often times, Kelworth will require a new customer to ship COD for their first load, until their credit application is finalized. This way, your load is not delayed due to paperwork.
Q. Do you ship outside of the United States?
A. At this time, we ship only within the continental United States. However, we will gladly ship to ports, where material may be transferred to another mode of transportation.
