Q. How many miles will I be expected to travel per day?
A. Depending on the route, Kelworth drivers are expected to be able to travel between 450 and 600 miles per day.
Q. How often will I be at home?
A. Kelworth Trucking is a family oriented business. We recognize the importance of spending time at home with family, especially in a business such as this one. We recommend that drivers return to their homes every other weekend to maximize their earning potential. If necessary, we are able to accommodate other scheduling needs that drivers may have, or make special arrangements for extenuating circumstances.
Q. Do you allow pets in the truck?
A. We understand that it can get lonely on the road, and pets can make excellent companions. Drivers that would like to take pets with them must agree to pay to have the vehicle professionally cleaned when the truck is traded in for a newer model, or the employee leaves the company.
Q. How much money will I make as a truck driver?
A. As with any job that is paid with commission, income is commensurate with the driver’s work ethic. The harder the driver works, the more he or she will receive in income.
Q. How often will I be paid?
A. Drivers are issued checks every Friday. They can pick their check up here at the office, have it mailed to their house or receive it by way of direct deposit.
Q. Do you offer direct deposit?
A. Yes, we do! When you are hired, just provide payroll with a voided check, and we will take care of the rest. There is no charge for direct deposit.
Q. Do you offer any additional employee benefits?
A. Kelworth is proud to offer their employees health insurance, Aflac, a 401(k) retirement plan and vacation pay.
Q. Will I have my choice of what kind of truck I drive?
A. All Kelworth drivers operate similar late model Peterbilt trucks, which are kept in excellent working condition. Some colors may vary, but each truck is the same model. The driver may have the option to choose from any of the units that are available at the time of hire.
Q. Will I be able to choose which loads I carry?
A. Many times, drivers will have the option to pick from a couple different options for their next reload. However, in some areas of the country, both the driver and the company only have a very few number of loads available to them.
Q. Will I have to tarp every load?
A. No, not every load will be tarped. However, when we are able to charge the customer for a tarp charge, the driver will receive 100% of that amount on their paycheck.

Q. Do I have to live near the corporate office?
A. No! We have drivers that live in several surrounding states; not just Oklahoma. If you are a dependable driver, you are welcome here!
Q. How long has Kelworth Trucking been in business?
A. Kelworth has been a family owned and operated business for over 25 years, and we continue to grow every year!
Q. How old do I have to be to apply for a job?
A. Insurance requirements state that each driver must be a minimum of 23-years-old.
Q. Do I have to have a special license or endorsements to be hired?
A. Drivers must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Q. Do I have to pass a physical?
A. Yes, federal law requires that all over-the-road drivers take and be able to pass a DOT physical.
Q. Will I have to pass a drug test?
A. Safety is very important to Kelworth Tucking. Consequently, only applicants that have never failed a drug screen will be eligible for hire.
Q. Do I have to have previous experience?
A. We request that applicants have a minimum of two years experience driving a truck, as well as specific experience in operating flatbed trailers.
Q. Do you only offer over-the-road positions?
A. As we are a nationwide carrier, we only offer over-the-road positions at this time.
Q. Do you hire Owner/Operators?
A. We do not hire owner/operators at this time.
Q. Do you offer opportunities for advancement?
A. Yes, we do! Hard working drivers have the opportunity to work their way into a stable position as a company dedicated driver over time.
Q. Do you provide fuel cards?
A. Yes, drivers will be issued Comdata fuel cards upon hire to keep their wheels rolling.
Q. Do you offer payroll advances?
A. Kelworth allows its drivers to obtain a $25 advance every day from their Comdata fuel card. This amount will be deducted from the driver’s weekly payroll. No other special payroll advances are granted.
Q. Do you offer any other bonuses?
A. Drivers that favorably pass a DOT roadside inspection are rewarded with a cash bonus on their weekly paycheck.
